Ayla,
FIVE. I’m in shock, when did you get so big? No longer are you a baby, or a toddler, but you are a little girl now. So grown up in so many ways. You are wise beyond your years; which is a trait about you that I love. This past year you have entered Pre-K; a bittersweet moment. You are so ready to start reading and recently started reading “sight word” books. The way you light up with your success puts a smile on my face. It is so neat to watch you learn new things. One trait about you that is amazing is your kindhearted spirit. You are the most helpful kid ever and would do anything for Brooklyn. It gives you so much happiness to help her; you are honestly just PROUD to be a big sister. You too treat your friends with respect and love. Finally, your ability to know what you want and not settle for less is one I admire.
You are very involved in many activities and love them all. You take dance, which consist of half tap and half ballet and you recently started gymnastics. At the current moment gymnastics is you favorite! Besides going to Pre-K three days a week, we also keep busy with a lot of local travel in the motorhome as well as going to the lake (to see grandpa and grandma).
Your current favorite color is pink. You want to be a police officer when you get older. You are into many things right now including Hello Kitty, Ariel, Clifford, and Berenstain Bears.
Ayla, watching you grow and talking to you, learning your perception on things, is so much fun. Your attention to detail is unreal. Many times other parents stop to tell me stories that relate to you remembering something from years back. Recently you told me that your friend Landry would have a dental appointment soon; sure enough the next week when we saw her she had gone that day (you knew she went close to the same time as you did). It’s the little things like this that amaze me about you. You also have a large vocabulary and I love listening to you try new words in different context.
God knew what he was doing when he gave you to us. You have graced our lives with a love that I never knew existed. You fill our hearts with love and joy and I couldn’t imagine life without you. Thank you for being the daughter that you are. We are so proud of the little girl you have become!
