On October 17th, after many tests and ear infections, we thought it would be best to go forth with putting tubes in your ears. We were really hoping that this would help all of your sicknesses. But with that said, it didn't. You still have nasty yellow stuff coming from your eyes, your nose runs all the time, and we have even seen some discharge from your ears. Once we got through all of that, we really thought we were in the clear. BUT that is when you started puking...puking...and puking more. Then after two days of puking, it turned to diarrhea. You had the WORST diarrhea EVER. It ruined clothes, it went everywhere and it smelled like something I have NEVER smelled in my life. Then after five days of this, you puked again. We called the doctor and he suggested that we get some stool samples. All of those came back positive for something called C Diff. You were put on medicine. For the next week, you screamed and literally wore your mom out. You wouldn't eat and would puke at least one time a day. Thursday we took you to Dr. Denninghoff for your tube post op. apt. Good news was your ears looked great, bad news was, he said you were sick and I needed to continue on my journey. After talking to a lot of people we decided to consult Dr. Cooperstock, a pediatric infectious disease doctor. Today you and I were at his office for over THREE hours. Overall, you were very good and really hung in there. Dr. Cooperstock was awesome. He sat there for an hour and listened and looked over all your records. He was puzzled as to why your eyes always start with the yellow discharge in the right eye, you always have your ear infections in your right eye, and your right eye it a tad different shaped than your left. He suggested we run some bloodwork and do an x-Ray to see if anything shows up structurally. So we did both of those things while we were there. We will wait a week and find out the results next Friday. If they all come back clear, we just have to work on keeping you in a very sterile area (as much as can be) and keep our fingers crossed for the winter. If something comes back from the X-Ray, they might do a CT scan to find out some further information. All in all, you are a "healthy" kid that is just struggling to stay that way. I hope we find out some answers soon. Seeing you sick and crabby all the time literally breaks your moms heart. I love you Brooklyn and will do whatever to make sure we are doing all we need to for you! Hang in there kiddo. It will get better.
