What Little Miss Thing Has Been Up To...

Well August 2nd, Ayla will turn 22 months. Honestly, it's hard to believe. She is doing and learning so much here lately! It's a blast to watch her take it all in. Here is what she has been up to...
*Talks a lot---this morning I sneezed and she said, "Bless You." She is also always saying, "Need Daddy Kiss." I could go on and on but as time goes on her thoughts are also getting longer. Today while outside there was a Bobcat next door. The guy waved to her and she waved back and said, "Mommy Go In Now."
*Scared of A Lot---Like I just mentioned anything big, new, different---Ayla wants NOTHING to do with it. She would rather just stay away from it all together. Getting her to try new things always has been and continues to be something that we continue to deal with.
*Gross Motor---Wow, it's growing! She practiced hopping and jumping a lot this month. She has also mastered how to go up and down the stairs with you just holding one of her hands (Prior to that she scooted or crawled up and down). In addition, she has mastered going up and down her slide by herself, thanks to grandma and grandpa. She always grabs her butt and says, "butt" once she has gone down. It's pretty darn cute!
*Wanting to be Like Us---Ayla has always wanted to be like us, this is a trait she has had since the day she was born! Hence the reason she gets deoderant, lipstick, lotion, and perfume on in the morning. She loves her lipstick. I need to get a picture of her once she puts it on by herself.
*Potty Training---When Ayla was 20 months old she pretty much potty trained herself and since that day it's just been easy. She has continued this and we are so proud of her. She is a big girl now! She only wears pull ups at naptime and bedtime now. Seriously, where has time gone?
Eating---Ayla has always and probably will always be a VERY picky eater but this month she has tried and actually liked fresh peaches and strawberries. We also discovered that she likes pizza, she just didn't like the fact that we were cutting it up for her. So she eats pepperoni pizza now too (if you add black olives, you will be her favorite person).
*Coloring---Ayla has discovered coloring and loves it. She loves to take her markers or crayons and make pictures. They are of course beautiful and colorful!
Adventures---We continue to take Ayla on many weekend adventures and she is doing well on them. She has her moments, as we all do, but all in all it's working great. She isn't a great rider, as she never has been, and the brightness wakes her up early (very early), but all in all it's fun family times.
Next time, I will post with pictures!
